Next- The Ringer
June 15th 2006 23:18
This is in addition to the post on the maratho, which was indeed far too short and not quite sweet enough, the other week I worked at a local show where i was a stockboy for the showbag area, and i have to say that although this movie is fun and entertaining in areas, the fact that the audience derived most of their laughs from simply seeing actual retarded people made me sick to the point where i would have actually preffered to go back to the carnies i was working for despite the fact that they called me names and pronounced "ask" "axe" through no conceivably interesting reason except "thats how you say it". In addition it annoyed the hell out of me that a Johnny Knoxville movie actually took a step back from going to far with something, in that it didn't go far enough. However I am glad that I managed to sneak into this film with two friends when we had paid for the other marathon, I didn't feel guilty about the whole thing though because we had actually wanted to see the ringer marathon but been denied because of it being sold out, which it turns out IT WASN'T!! The only other choice was "eight below" and i didn't think i could stand to watch 90 minutes of Paul Walker growling in his artificially deepened voice, about a bunch of dogs who die at the end. Plus the fact that one particular character falls down an ice hole twice in similar circumstances, put me off my dinner. Althugh back to "The Ringer" it turns out Johnny Knoxville plays a nice guy and is actually highly likeable, it definitely made me a fan so i suppose its work here is done.
